Café Review - Barista
Monday, 25 June 2007
Suddenly, without warning, Scarborough is a veritable treasure trove of good value places to eat.  Latest to join the throng is Barista, on Huntriss Row. It's easy to miss - look up above, nearly opposite rival Bonnet's - but once you've found it, my guess is you'll keep going back.

I had an excellent goat's cheese, rocket and hazelnut salad (one minor irritation: the board said walnut, and nothing was mentioned on delivery. Didn't bother me, but I guess if you're a nut aficionado, it might) with a hearty slab of toasted ciabatta for just £3.45. My friend chose the Caesar salad sandwich - again, on ciabatta, and very filling. The breakfasts look good, are very well-priced, and include a choice of tea or coffee - it's a small gesture, but one that always inclines me favourably towards a place! It's airy, spacious, reasonably smart, and very friendly. Add it to your list.  Jeannie Swales
