Beached blasts
Tuesday, 29 July 2008
Helmsley’s finest are to headline at this year’s Beached festival. One Night Only, fresh from the Fuji festival in Japan, will play Saturday night followed by chart toppers Dodgy on Sunday.

One Night Only, comprising Dan, George, Jack, Mark and Sam, released their debut album Started a Fire this year. A single from it, You and Me, a catchy little number in fine Britpop boyband style, was re-released in July, while a previous single, Just for Tonight, raced into the UK singles top 10.

Early nineties heavyweights Dodgy racked up a dozen top 40 singles in six years, before going their musical ways. Now Nigel Clark, Andy Miller, and Mathew Priest are back with their happy vibes and camper van. Thankfully they’ve got lost the blond moptops, and by all accounts are sending out that stunning Dodgy vibe as well as ever. The Garageband website says they have ‘buckets of soul’ and you can’t argue with that. They would have got back together sooner but Mathew fell out of bed and chipped a bone in his arm. Let’s hope they make it safely to the stage this time, it’s a dangerous world out there.
