Scarborough fans of rogue songwriter Jake Thackray are headed to the Dales this month for a night performing the old master's songs. This year's Jakefest on Saturday 5 September is being held at the Hobbit Inn high above Calderdale and is certain to feature gems such as The Bigger the Bull the Bigger the Balls, and The Blacksmith and the Toffee Maker. The touring event was held in Scarborough in 2006 to great acclaim, and some are still reeling from the memory.

This year there are two shows, a matinee starting at 2pm in the lower bar and an evening performance in the upper bar starting at 7.30pm.  There is no charge for entry, just a donation of whatever you can afford, to cover expenses and a donation to Cancer Research.
