Barrowcliffe Stories goes to Europe

Scarborough based filmmaker Claudia Nye is to present at this year’s prestigious World Forum Theatre Festival in Austria this month.

She was invited to show her interactive film Barrowcliffe Stories, which involved the estate community in its making. It will form part of her presentation titled ForumStories, which she hopes can become an interactive tool to help solve problems within communities. Her aim is to transfer from film to computer games as the medium for the project.

The plan is to set up a network with like minded practitioners from around the world at the festival. These will be providing the content for subsequent animated film clips, finally producing a “play” as a game in which players can help bring about social change.

Claudia says: 'If the mantra of YouTube is Broadcast Yourself, the tagline for ForumStories should be Sort Your Own Issues Out.'
