Themed eaterie for SJT
Wednesday, 07 July 2010
New management has taken on the restaurant at The Stephen Joseph Theatre.

The Restaurant@SJT will be run by HQ Hospitality, one of the UK’s largest theatre operators, who also run the Copper Horse Restaurant in Seamer, which was Les Routiers Restaurant of the Year 2008/09 and a finalist in the White Rose Awards Pub of the Year 2009. The firm already has eight theatres of its own in the south of England.

The Restaurant will be offering a pre-matinee lunch menu and pre-show dinner menu which will be themed to match the shows playing at the theatre. The latest one is themed to A Midsummer Night’s Dream currently showing at the SJT and includes garden ‘Peas Blossom’ soup, a ‘Theseus’ burger and ‘Hobgoblin’ beef bourguignon.

Both the Manager Robert Lazenby and the Chef Dan Hargreaves are passionate about using the freshest local ingredients, such as all meat coming from Gibson’s of South Cliff and fruit and vegetables from Fruit from All Seasons at the market.
